24 HOURS IN BRUSSELS | PIERRE MARCOLINI

A few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to visit Brussels with my friend, Nhung for the first time as Mr Pierre Marcolini kindly invited us for the launch of his new products for the summer. Once we arrived in Brussels, we rushed to the city centre to stroll around the beautiful square with chocolate shops lining up. Then, the evening was full of fun and sweets. From the beautiful floral decorations, the flavoured tea and the different ice-cream with fun dipping, we indulged ourselves, anticipated to the next day even more as we learnt that we would be meeting Mr. Pierre in person.

After a filling breakfast, we headed to Mr Pierre’s house. Here, he greeted us with such warm embraces and showed us around his lovely home. From the collection of wine and whisky to the lovely artworks around his places, I immediately learnt so many new things. Then, we sat down in his lovely kitchen where he explained to us his passion for chocolate, which traced back to when he was 10. The way he spoke about chocolate, his journey to find the best cocoa beans, the culinary knowledge he applied to create something different but also keeping the integrity of where the cocoa beans are from- whether Ecuador , Vietnam or Peru. Fairtrade at Pierre Macrolini is a must, which validate his work ethics even further. Later on, we were lucky enough to try the hot chocolate that he made from scratch , full with love. We were enriched with new knowledge in such a great experience. It was sad to leave Brussels but it sure won’t be long until we return to this beautiful place.
