This Christmas, I received the perfect gift from Jaeger-leCoultre, the Reverso Classic and I genuinely couldn’t be happier. Having worked with Jaeger-Le Coultre for the past two years, this was a huge surprise for me when I got the note to come down to the store in Mayfair to pick out a watch on my own, and customised to my liking.
The Reverso Classic is everything about the Swiss craftsmanship when it comes to watchmaking with its automatic movement providing enhanced comfort. It is finished with a satin-brushed finish on the rim of the dial, guilloché at its center, and circular-graining on the horns all exhibit the same attention that is lavished on every detail of the watch for a subtle, refined aesthetic. My favourite part of the watch is the back, where I get to customise pretty much anything I want. I decided on a simple ‘QM’ but even if I wanted an Eiffel Tower engraved on it, it was possible. This is a classic piece that surpasses time, and that I know I will be able to pass down to generations to come. It’s come to be a very precious gift and I can only thank Jaeger-leCoultre for being so generous.
My journey with Jaeger-leCoultre has been a long one but it’s also only just begun. I’m excited to be heading to SIHH (salon international de la Haute Horlogerie) next week in Geneva. In the last few years, I’ve learnt so much about watchmaking with JLC and with the SIHH, I will be able to fully immerse myself in everything to do with this incredible craft. I’m excited to make new discoveries and exchange points of views with other watchmakers alike, together with the Jaeger-leCoultre team.
